No Mask (Ceramic Metallic) - Sziklai Distorter

This is a No Mask circuit where each of the film capacitors have been replaced with ceramic capacitors.

By every available metric, ceramic capacitors are worse than film capacitors - especially when it comes to noise. So naturally, I thought they'd be good for a noisy pedal.

In addition to the capacitor changes, this has some NOS TO-39 packaged PNP silicon transistor in Q1, 2 x 2N3904s in Q2 and Q3 and is all enclosed in a metallic clear-coated raw enclosure.

No Mask is a distortion device; the result of polar opposites working in disharmony, and the sound of things going terribly wrong.

"no" controls the input volume
"mask" controls the output volume

The 3-position switch controls how much low frequency information is allowed to enter the circuit.

Switch position left: Unobstructed bass content
Switch position middle: Strangled bass content
Switch position right: Somewhere between unobstruction and strangulation

Bypass: True Bypass
Power: 9VDC, 2.1mm centre-negative barrel
Power consumption: not a lot

Running this unit off of an isolated power supply is highly recommended.
